Terms of Service
1. About these Terms
Oakland County (“we”, “us”) is an independent online roleplay community in the United States. These Terms apply when you create or use an Oakland County Account at rivershirerp.com. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t create an account.
2. Who we are not
Oakland County is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc. Your use of Roblox and Discord is governed by their own terms.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you don’t pass the age check, you can’t register. We ask for your birth month and year only to check this, and we don’t keep them.
4. Your account
Give an email address you control and keep it up to date with us. Your Oakland County Account is separate from your Roblox and Discord accounts. Choose a password you don’t use anywhere else, especially not for Roblox or Discord. Keep it private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at privacy@rivershirerp.com if you think someone else has used it. One account per person. Don’t share, sell or transfer your account.
5. Connecting Discord and Roblox
You may connect one Discord account and one Roblox account to your Oakland County Account. You approve a Discord connection on Discord’s website and a Roblox connection on Roblox’s website. We keep only what we need to identify each account: its user ID, username and display name. A connection is permanent from your side. Once it’s made, you can’t disconnect, replace or swap it yourself, and connecting again won’t change it. If you need a connection changed or removed, contact Oakland County Support. We will review the request and may ask you to prove who you are, and we may decline it. A connection doesn’t give you any staff role, permission or in-game advantage. Together with a confirmed email address and the current community rules acknowledged, your connections verify you in the Oakland County community Discord, which opens its community channels; nothing else about how the game or the community treat you changes. Your Discord and Roblox accounts remain governed by Discord’s and Roblox’s own terms.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- break the law;
- create accounts automatically or in bulk;
- get around security checks, rate limits or account restrictions;
- access or try to access another person’s account;
- impersonate anyone;
- probe, scan or disrupt the service;
- use it to harass or harm others.
Conduct in the game and in the community server is also governed by their rules and by Roblox’s and Discord’s terms.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it’s safe and lawful, we’ll tell you why.
8. Deleting your account
You can ask to delete your account from your account settings. When you do, you’re signed out everywhere straight away. For 14 days you can sign in to cancel. After that, your account is permanently deleted as described in our Privacy Notice, and it can’t be restored.
9. No fees
An Oakland County Account is free. Nothing can be bought through it at this time.
10. The service
We provide the service as it is and as available. We may change, pause or stop parts of it. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes, but we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For a significant change we’ll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect, and we’ll ask you to accept the new version where required. The version you accepted is recorded with your account.
